Dharamshala or Dharamsala is a city in northern India. It is the winter seat of government of the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is also the district headquarters of the Kangra district.
Dharamshala” is a Hindi word (derived from Sanskrit) that is a compound of dharma and shālā. An approximate translation into English would be 'spiritual dwelling' or a 'sanctuary'.
There are few areas of attractions like Masrur, Bhagsu Waterfall, Bhagsunag Temple, Dal Lake and etc Dhauladhar is the most beautiful. Dhauladhar which means "white ridge”, is a breathtaking snow-capped range rises out of the Kangra Valley to a height of 17,000 feet. They form a treacherous range creating unpredictable weather.
Dharamshala Cricket Stadium is a very famous cricket stadium of international reputation. It serves as the home ground to the Himachal Pradesh state cricket team and also for the IPL team Kings XI Punjab. By virtue of its natural backdrop, it is one of the most attractive cricket stadiums in India. It is also believed that this makes it better than many stadiums in New Zealand and the most beautiful stadium in the world. |
