3 Rocking Festivals to Enjoy this March

Whether you are single, a couple or a family of 5, I’m sure you have taken regular vacation to a beach, a mountain resort or a amusement park. This year, instead of holidaying in the same old places, add flavor to your holiday with a festive twist. Here are some festivals you can enjoy if you are planning a holiday in March.

Rio Carnival on 5th March, 2011 in Brazil

The Rio Carnival is the world’s most famous and largest festival held before Lent every year.

Swing to the samba, rock to the rumba and move to the meringue at the Rio Carnival in Brazil.  This wild four-day celebration takes place 40 days before Easter. It is the biggest Carnival in the world and has a variety of artistic events, parades and dances. The best part, you are not just an observer, you can join the street parties, follow the bands, mingle with the crowd.

Goa Carnival from 5th to 8th March 2011

'kha, piye and majja kar' - eat, drink and make merry is the motto of the Goa Carnival held in Goa, India.

The Goa Carnival has its roots in the pre-independence times when it was still ruled by the Portuguese. This party starts four days before lent and continues for 3 days non-stop. Watch as the Momo, King of Chaos directs his entourage of acrobats, clowns, jesters, fire- eaters, dancers, brass bands and revelers in parade down the main street of Panaji, Goa. Partake in the merriment. Enjoy the great music and dancing, parades and processions, and of course, unlimited food.

St Patrick's Day on 17th March in Ireland, America, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Japan and Russia

Whether you live in Ireland or America, you can join in the fun on St. Patrick’s Day.

St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland is one of the most popular saints well known amongst to Christians and those of other faiths. St. Patrick’s day is celebrated on 17th March his death anniversary. It is a day where Irish culture is showcased. You can watch parades and outdoor theatre shows. Enjoy concerts and fireworks.

Make sure you pack green clothing if you are planning a St Patrick's Day holiday. To enjoy the biggest celebration head to Ireland or New York, where everything goes green on the 17th of March.
