Select a Cruise for Your Next Vacation

Are you tired of going to the beach, hill station or amusement park for your vacation? Are you looking for something relaxing and fun but different?

Then it’s time to take a Cruise!

Going on a cruise is like staying at a floating hotel or resort that lets you experiencing multiple exotic destinations in a short span of time. One day you are in Puerto Rico and the next in Aruba.

There are cruises available in all parts of the world – Alaska, the Bahamas, Tahiti, Fiji, the Caribbean Islands, Europe, the Red Sea, the Nile and more. Moreover, there are cruises available for every type of traveler from those travelling on a budget to those who want to languish in the lap of luxury. There are four cruise classes - luxury cruise, premium cruises, contemporary/value cruise and specialty cruise. A luxury cruise is the most expensive but it offers the highest quality services and amenities. The next is a premium cruise, which offers quality service. Third is contemporary/value cruise, the most well known type. The last option is the specialty cruise that offers cruises by passenger group i.e. singles, seniors etc. So, you can select the cruise that suits your budget and requirements just like selecting a destination or a hotel for a regular vacation.

An average cruise is 7 days; however, there are cruises as short as 2 days to longer cruises that are 14 and 30 days. This variation in time determines the number of places you see. For example, if you choose a 7-day Southern Caribbean cruise, you will probably visit San Juan, Puerto Rico; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Oranjestad and Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao. This may sound like a lot but you do get sufficient time to explore each place. Typically, the cruise liner will wait for 12 to 14 hours at the place. The only drawback is that it will depart at the exact time without, so you really should avoid being late else you will have to make your way to the next place on the itinerary by yourself.

The main draw of taking a cruise is that the cost of the cruise covers everything from cabin (room) to fabulous meals (often cruises will offer multiple cuisines to cater to different taste buds). It also includes on-board activities (gym and spa, swimming pools, games, live music, discos, etc.), shore excursions (you may have to pay for some of these activities such as snorkeling, helicopter tours etc) and more.

All you have to do is select a cruise liner, a cruise and show up at the port on D-day and check-in. Then, all that is left to do is sit back and relax.
