Living it up in Amazing Aruba

Aruba, renowned for its white, sandy beaches is a Dutch island, is located in the Southern Caribbean, just a few miles off the coast of South America. Its climate moderated by Atlantic trade winds keep the temperature almost constant at just over 80 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes Aruba a year round vacation paradise.

If you are heading to Aruba, here are some great places to see and things to do:

Arikok National Park

Arikok National Park occupies approximately 18% of the island of Aruba, including three primary geological formations, the Aruba lava formation, a quartz diorite formation, and a limestone formation that extends inward from the coast. You can see Arawak Indian drawings, desert landscapes, giant lizards, indigenous flora and fauna.

Bushiribana and Balashi

Get a feel for the past by visiting the Bushiribana smelter. The smelter was built in 1872 by the Gold Mining Company to extract gold from the ore that was being mined in the nearby hills of Ceru Plat. You can also check out Balashi, which is located at the southern end of Frenchman's Pass. In 1899, the Aruba Gold Concessions company built a gold smelter here. The smelter was closed in 1916, during the First World War.

California Lighthouse

The California Lighthouse, located near Arashi Beach on the northwest tip of Aruba was named for the steamship California, which wrecked nearby on Sept 23, 1891. It is one of Aruba’s trademarks cenes and offers sweeping views of the island's western coast and beaches.

Mount Jamanota
Get a stunning view of the Aruba at Mount Jamanota, which at 620 ft is the highest point on the island. You will also get glimpses of wild parakeets and wild goats and wild donkeys.

Hooiberg

Hooiberg, located almost in the center of the island is a 541 ft volcanic formation. You need to climb 562 concrete steps that lead to the top of the mountain.

Natural Pool
The Natural Pool also known as "conchi" or "Cura di Tortuga" is a pool of water formed by rock and volcanic stone circles. It is located in a very remote area in the north of Aruba and is accessible by four-wheel drive or all-terrain vehicles.

Aruba Butterfly Farm
Take a walk through the Aruba Butterfly Farm and see hundreds of fascinating, gorgeous butterflies that flutter freely in a mesh, richly vegetated enclosure.

Eagle Beach
Eagle Beach is a soft white sand beach that has been rated one of the best beaches in the world. It is located in Oranjestad in Aruba.

Arashi

Enjoy snorkeling at Arashi, a beach on the northwestern side of Aruba, close to the California Lighthouse. The Arashi Beach is a participant in the Aruba Reef Care Project to clean up reefs, shallow waters and public beaches

These are just some of the sights you can enjoy in Aruba!
